PPD Task 2
Identify 5 companies/studios which you consider potentially synergetic to you personally. Write a short explanatory paragraph and reasons for each:
1: Cartlidge Levene - A studio I came across quite a long time ago, who seem to produce innovative solutions without attempting to be too edgy or 'out there', it appears like they seek to take on a challenge and do the job properly without allowing their own creative tendencies to become too apparent. They also undertake a lot of environmental work which is something I would like to do more of in the future.
2: Various record labels - designing for various labels (packaging/branding etc) seems like the obvious choice to take as it crosses over with my other main area of interest, and as a result would hopefully be the place where I can create the most effective outcomes. Particularly electronic music...house labels and similar.
3: Studio Newwork - similar reasons to C.L. above but this one's in New York, which would of course be a fairly exciting place to work for a while. A bit of big step to take but I get quite excited about everything once I'm in another country for some reason.
4: OK-RM - a suggestion from Yaf and Eddie, they don't look too bad to be honest (the studio that is).
5: Say What - I really like the work they produce, although I'm not sure where it sits in the world, all their work looks a bit like the kind of thing you might find in a treasure chest which. They have a very unique style, and they are based in France which would mean I could be abroad and learn a cool language and be in a different city. I know a bit of French as well.
